The Wednesday Music Groups
12-1pm: Singing for health
A stress busting hour of breathing, movement, and singing. Drawing on aspects of meditation, yoga and mindfulness, this session is designed to clear your mind and enable you to enjoy the present moment. Open to all: both students and staff, and no singing experience is necessary.
A new singing group for all – no sheet music, but music from around the world taught by ear. Learn about vocal technique, improvisation within a vocal ensemble and how to harmonise with a melody line. Plans include a brand new composition devised during weekly sessions, in collaboration with the music department.
5.30-6.30pm: Brunel Chamber Choir
A brand new choir for singers who are reasonably confident with reading music. Classical repertoire from the 15th century to the present day, from Buxtehude to Britten. Learn the skills needed for ensemble singing, including tuning, consonant placement, group interpretation and consort skills. Discover new repertoire and composers while refining your listening and sight reading ability.
