Brunel in Aldeburgh

Oliver Brignall and Amir Mahyar Tafreshipour

AMIR MAYHAR TAFRESHIPOUR and Oliver Brignall are two Brunel composers chosen for the Aldeburgh English song project with their songs to be performed in the annual festival.
Songs begun on this course will be further developed and performed by young singers during a 2013 Aldeburgh Festival masterclass with Ian Bostridge. There will be showcase workshops at the Brunel Institute of Composing at Easter and a further opportunity to develop the work at Dartington with new singers in July. The project will continue in 2014 and 2015, with new composers. Recordings may be made of the most interesting songs, alongside the possibility of publication.

Amir will have his PENDAR for solo oboe premiered in St. Petersburg New Music Festival in May while Oliver will be appearing at Opera Holland Park over the summer season.
