PC duoDorT CoLab WOW

No, this isn’t the latest shortcut for texting your pals… This is a short blurb about what one of our illustrious  resident ensembles are up to at the moment… and they are always up to something…

Happening now at CoLab: 13th-24th February:
Piano Circus are running some collaborative workshops with composers and players at Trinity Laban this week, with composer Duncan MacLeod, as part of Trinity’s very interesting CoLab programme.  Empowering you to take artistic risks, CoLab is an exceptional learning opportunity which will enable you to learn and think differently as a musician. In facilitating your engagement with a wide range of artists and art-forms from across the worlds of music, dance and beyond, CoLab offers an unparalleled insight into the creative process. You will be able help determine the projects undertaken, with many senior students invited to take leading roles in many of the projects on offer.

Happening later: 9th and 21st March
duoDorT (Kate and Semra from Piano Circus, pictured here in all their splendor) have been working with Brunel composer Yuko Ohara, who has written them a commission as part of their Quantulum project, supported by Arts Council England and PRS for Music Foundation. They will be performing her piece, if all goes well — hey, it’s a new piece!— at WOW Festival 2012 at Festival Hall on 9th March ( free event, 1pm) and at the Howell Theatre on campus on 21st March as part of Music Happens 2, with student compositions from Bishopshalt School.
