Dziga Vertov way back in 1929 created a film that, to this day, inspires and pulls us into a world of dynamic silent beauty: Man with a Camera. As there is no story line, no inter-titles, no script, no actors and no sound, the film easily lends itself to musical experimentation and there have been a plethora of soundtracks to prove it! One of these has recently been released on CD by the group Art Zoyd. You can find it by clicking on the glowing red image. You’ll find that Carl Faia was involved in the real-time electronics and some of the other bits and pieces for the development of the piece.
If you’re intrigued, the original film can be found by following the man… with a camera!
