Cruel 2 B Kind: BEAM Festival’s Pervasive Game

BEAM (coming soon) brings you the latest in gaming: pervasive games! Simon Katan will be the Puppetmaster for the festival edition of the game and he has this to say about what the in-crowd call C2BK: Designed by game giants Jane McGonigal (Avant Game) and Ian Bogost (Persuasive Games), Cruel 2 B Kind has been played in over 50 cities in 10 countries and 4 continents and is absolutely my favourite pervasive game.
C2BK is a game of benevolent assassination for up to 200 players. Kill your opponents with weapons of kindness, such as serenading them, complementing them on their beautiful eyes or mistaking them for someone famous. Sounds simple? The only catch is you don’t know who’s playing . As the kills increase so does the size of the teams, making it harder to hide. Immersed in this world of paranoia where all could be the enemy, you’ll need subtlety and cunning to win this game. Watch a video here -> C2BK.
Scary, in a brainy sort of way… if it’s your thing (and why wouldn’t it be?), here is the info you need:

Date:  Saturday June 25th
Time: 1.00pm – 3.00pm
Place: Brunel University, Uxbridge, London.
Entry: free
What you need: Mobile phone… sensible shoes ?

C2BK is free to play but gamers also get a concessionary rate of £10 on the Saturday day pass to BEAM (pre-ordered tickets only). This will allow you to spend the rest of Saturday enjoying workshops, interactive installations and world-class electronic experimental music performance.

To play the game simply email beam2bk@gmail.com with subject heading ‘I’M GAME’ and await further instructions.
